Lake opened to sea

With the heavy rains, Smiths Lake on the Mid North Coast of NSW reached a trigger point. With businesses, properties and roads etc becoming submerged, it was necessary to mechanically open up the lake and release the waters.

This occurs about every two years and Midcoast Council is responsible for the opening. RPAS Australia was there to capture this interesting local environmental event. A part from drone filming, we also install our 12m 'tripod'. A telescopic carbon fibre pole, in this case fitted with a 360 degree view timelapse camera.

Between the drone video and the timelapse video we had nearly 55,000 views online (between Vimeo & Facebook) in just a few days!!!

This was great exposure for the area, the council and generated so much interest in the district. The power of good visual story-telling shouldn't be under estimated. What story do you want to tell? Let's talk.
